The Aquincum Museum features a collection of historic Roman and Celtic artefacts with ancient city ruins from the 2nd Century. These ruins, along with the statues, courtyards, fountains, open-air theatres, and the water organ, are the leading attractions of this place.

Aquincum ruins, an ancient Roman city in the now Budapest region was excavated towards the end of the nineteenth century and at present has turned into one of the biggest archaeological digs in the country. These ruins can be witnessed by the visitors who walk through the ancient city streets and its attractions which include – the mosaic thermal baths, courtyards, city temples and an amphitheatre. It was a major city back in its glory days with its population in thousands and was located in the oldest part of Buda, known by the name of Óbuda. Aquincum was once a large city and it is said that only a third portion of this ancient city has since been excavated.

With historically significant artefacts of the Celtics and the Romans, along with a water organ which serves as an attraction point to this place, the Aquincum is home to baroque and modern structures. The museum hosts the artefacts which once belonged to the Celtics and the Romans and other stunning units like the statues, sculptures and mosaics which are sure to grab your attention.
